Like with many other issues inside the world of printing, laser printers have come a prolonged way inside past few years. They have gone from being found almost exclusively in offices to being offered at 0 for a home user. While they are better for a great deal of people, some have a hard time imagining themselves buying a laser printer for their house. A lot of persons have the idea that laser printers are just the big clunky machines in their offices where the toner cartridges price a fortune. Nonetheless, if you’re somebody who prints out a large amount of documents and is tired of always having to buy new black inkjet cartridges, laser printers can be the solution. Once you get past the initial sticker shock of buying laser toner cartridges, you can realize the numbers for an entry level laser printer versus an inkjet printer look something like this:
Typical toner cartridge – -
Page yield – 2,000-3,000 pages
Regular price per page – 2-2.5 cents per page
Typical inkjet cartridge – -
Page yield – 400-500 pages
Average price per page – 4-6 cents per page
While these are just averages and might not seem all that different, in general if you are printing documents, it will likely charge you twice as much to run an inkjet printer than a laser printer. It’s improved to think of issues inside lengthy term when it comes to laser printers, since only then will you truly appreciate their value. If you buy a laser printer and then a backup toner cartridge at the same time, by the time you might have finished that second cartridge, you would have gone through roughly 10 inkjet cartridges.
So in case you aren’t into printing color, then you are probably improved off going with a laser printer over a standard inkjet printer. You’ll appreciate the speed and low maintenance of a laser printer, while also saving money on printer ink inside extended run.

@Limpandtotheleft I don’t think the uploader made it just to fit your standards..
Very tense presentation affecting the breathing.
Stop sniffing!
Plan and practise what you want to say. Hesitation suggests you’re making it up as you go, and the story doesn’t flow. Write a script.
Use a fixed camera not waving about.
And, please, SOUND enthusiastic.
Decent effort.
Thanks for the video!
Transfer roller? It’s a magnetic roller. Learn the part names and functions before you present yourself as an expert.
Was it really necessary to have your website in the middle of the video the whole time?
and it’s not even well explained
the address in the middle is really annoying!
That first roller is a magnetic roller, the transfer roller is under the fuser, the foamy one.
Buy Xerox
very helpful .ty mate
Get rid of the damn TEXT across the MIDDLE of the screen!!!!
max help me how to put the cartridge inside, i dont know how..
Good video, but next time you do this get someone to film for you (lol).
oh man, THANKS!
i needed a video on laser printers for my science project
thanks heaps
Great explaining video. I didnt know that the drum is limited. Not at all. Could you get those drums for the toners that comes with drum in one piece inestead of buying the whole cartridge?
No probs. I think some people feel the need to demonstrate how wonderfully intelligent they are by knocking other people down on silly details. Anyway’s the vid is fine, I’ve just bought a laser mfp myself so I’ve had to look up everything I can about it to make sure it doesn’t cost the earth to replace parts on it as it ages. Oh the joys.
you’re absolutely right…that was my bad! Don’t know why I used “optical” instead. =P
thanks for your honesty…i think it’s boring too, but thanks for watching it! i intend to do more preparation and more interesting production next time when i get around to it! =)
thanks for being constructive! =)
There are some really nasty posters here. I believe that both terms for OPC are correct….what does it matter. I’d only complain if he was an engineer from the printer manufacturer themselves and he got something wrong because then you would expect his knowledge to be pin point accurate. He explains it pretty well. If you want to be sure that everything in this video is correct….do the research!
Not helpful and boring video , try to do a good work next time please.
OPC does NOT mean Optical PhotoConductor. It means Organic PhotoConductor. Get your facts straight please.
Simple.
Magic.
cchambex shut up and appreciate the effort this guy has made to post a video, unlike your critical ass
yeah, I’m studying a+ at the moment and the video is not as in depth as the actual process. While I’m not that familiar with laser printers there is alot to take in with the whole process
Thanks for the constructive video production tips. I’ll keep them in mind when I actually make a real video someday.
Yes, this WAS my first video, and it was purposely done on the fly with very little preparation. Production quality was not the focus. It was actually done to test out a few crucial things behind the scenes, which I was pleased with! =)
As for pulling this video and re-doing it? I wish I had the time! Besides, I kinda like how this crappy video got 10k+ views in 6 months!
Generally, you want to make a script about what you want to clearly articulate. You also want to be technically correct and used the correct terms.
As someone who is studying A+ Certification, this video appears “off the cuff” and factually inaccurate. Please pull this video and re-do it with a quality production.

You take a huge risk when you insert this into your printer. I want to make it clear that this is NOT a Samsung product. I bought it without looking too closely at the detail — the seller should make it more clear that this “compatible” word means NOT ORIGINAL. In fact, those words should be used, as when you put this junky Chinese stuff into your printer, it makes a horrible clunk — there is powder spewing out of it into my machine, and a stripe shows up on every page. You know how most toner cartridges have an element that slides across the wire, cleaning it? This one doesn’t have that. It is pure garbage.

The box came in the mail slightly opened. The cartridge comes in a bag. I tore the bag open and the toner dust immediately went all over my face, up my nose, in my clothes and hands. The cartridge was covered in toner dust.
The instructions that came with the toner explained that a tape like string must be pulled from the toner before using it. The string had been removed before the toner arrived.
I placed the cartridge in the printer and the printer did not recognize that the toner cartridge was inserted.I removed the toner cartridge and threw the toner out. There cartridge left toner residue in the printer itself.

Loud grinding noise, papper jam, now I need to buy a new samsung, put old toner in just to see, noise remains, no paper advance, printer dead. So did this toner kill my printer???

This replacement toner cartridge is advertised as “compatible” with the original. Indeed, it works very well right out of the box, in the ML-2010 printer. The print seems somewhat darker than with the original, so I use the light setting in the printer options, to save on toner. Because of this (minor) difference I only gave the cartridge 4 stars rather than 5. A similar cartridge has been working for me in another printer for 6 months without fail.

After reading the reviews, I decided to take my chances since this option is so much cheaper than the original. After installing the toner, I printed a few test sheets and discovered the green drum that applies the toner to the paper was deeply scratched, which caused it to print the scratch marks repeatedly across all documents. Needing to print some time-sensitive documents and not wanting to drive to Kinko’s, I decided to remove the drum from the old cartridge and install in the new one, which resolved the issue. It is not terribly difficult but is messy dealing with the toner. Remove the 4 screws on the ends of the cartridge, then the 2 screws on the top of the cartridge, which allows the top piece to be removed. This allows the two end caps to be removed at which point it becomes obvious how to remove the drum. Not a great option but better than sending it back and wasting the time for a return.
